Sheffield Digital Awards - sponsored by XLN

Jack Stratten

We're sponsoring the brilliant Sheffield Digital Awards

Sheffield’s tech industry has expanded at a phenomenal rate and today generates millions, employs thousands and underpins every aspect of business – and our lives. At XLN, we’ve long been dedicated to the regeneration of the local Sheffield economy. In 2019, we’ve doubled the size of our Sheffield-based team with our multi-million pound investment, bringing 150 new jobs to the city. Since establishing an office in the heart of Sheffield’s city centre back in 2014, we’ve been committed to further growth and 2019 will see these plans come to fruition.

And that’s why we’re proud to announce that we’ll be supporting The Sheffield Star as they launch the city’s first Digital Awards.

The Star has worked in collaboration with us here at XLN, Kollider at Castle House and Sheffield Digital to create this opportunity to really shout about the city and its tech success stories. While we all know that the digital sector contributes a huge amount to Sheffield’s economy and culture, the Digital Awards will see the message reach a much wider audience.

What to expect

We want to shout about the sector’s immense contribution with an event to honour the best in the business, across 10 categories.

The ceremony takes place on 2nd May at Kollider and it will be the first event in what’s shaping up to be an exciting, ambitious new digital hub.

The categories are as follows:

  • Best online personality
  • Best web or mobile application
  • Best video game
  • Best economic support initiative (including education)
  • Best tech for good
  • Most innovative use of digital tech
  • Best use of digital tech in industry
  • Best digital arts and culture project
  • Best international success
  • Young entrepreneur of the year

Sound like you? Then make sure you put your business forward before the nominations close on 22nd March 2019.

You can enter in more than one category, but your nominee must be from Sheffield and their products made in the city. The Digital Awards has five sponsors and each will supply a judge, who along with Star staff will pick the shortlist and winners.
