What is your current position at XLN?
My current position at XLN is Outbound Sales Team Leader.
What work experience did you have prior to this role and how has XLN supported your skills and growth?
Prior to working at XLN I had retail and hospitality experience from working at JD Sports and a local pub. It helped me gain customer service experience, team building skills, independence and how to learn and deal with different responsibilities I had never really encountered before. It also helped me grow as a person.
What do you most like about working at XLN and how would you describe the people and the energy in your work environment?
I think working at XLN has numerous positives. The environment we work in is competitive and friendly. In my year of working here I have built up numerous friendly relationships. The atmosphere in sales is always upbeat, positive and always carries a great buzz. From the feeling of getting that sale across the line and walking up and putting your name on the board to having little incentives in the week and mini competitions between departments always keeps it positive.
What key values do you uphold in your role?

Can you share an interesting fact about yourself?
An interesting fact about myself would be that I used to do numerous sports when I was younger such as hapkido which is a type of martial arts, and I am a keen football fan of my local Sheffield team and have been since I was a little girl.
Would you recommend XLN to those searching for a new career or looking to expand their work experience? If yes, why? What would they benefit from working at XLN?
Yes! I would recommend XLN as a career path for someone who is looking around for a job. Working here has taught me many things, not just about working life but about myself as well. Since I have worked at XLN I have grown as a person and also realised I can do a lot more than I thought I could. The promotion basis here is great! You have so much room to become one of the ones at the top even if you have little experience. It’s challenging at times but at the end of the day it’s worth it from the pride you get from selling.
What is something you are most proud of having achieved during your time at XLN?
The event I am most proud of whilst working at XLN would most likely be when I got promoted to Team Leader. Before I got promoted, I was having a few months that were a bit slow regarding selling. However, when I saw the opportunity and an opening that had become available for a Team Leader position, I stepped up and that was my main focus. The next month I had delivered 30+ sales and was promoted to Team Leader with my very own team to handle. That was a great feeling.
Do you have some valuable advice to share with newcomers or those interested in applying for a role at XLN?
The best advice I could give to a new starter would be don’t compare yourself to others around you or if others are selling before you. Instead of that getting you down, use it as motivation. When I was a new starter, I was one of the last people to sell in my group. After that, the only thing I wanted to do was sell and sell more than them. Have the fight, have the determination and have that push. That’ll make you a great salesperson.
