XLN and Goodwings: The Power of Partnerships

How our partnership with Goodwings will advance sustainability goals

We are delighted and incredibly proud to announce a partnership with Goodwings – a travel booking platform that offsets all the carbon from your business trips.

And in a recent webinar I recorded with Christian Moller-Holst, their CEO and Founder, we briefly explored the importance of partnerships in helping the world to achieve the UN’s 17 Sustainability Development Goals.

A win-win-win for XLN, its customers and yours

For the thousands of small firms that choose XLN for their business essentials, sustainability probably isn’t top of the priority list. That’s entirely understandable given the existential threat the pandemic has created.

But that doesn’t mean that small businesses don’t care about the climate crisis. In truth, everyone cares – and if it was easy to do more, most businesses would.

That’s the beauty of Goodwings.

It’s widely recognised that for the average small business, around 70% or more of its carbon footprint simply comes from business travel.

So, as a travel platform that offers the opportunity to automatically offset your carbon simply by booking, it allows small businesses to take action with minimal effort.

Bookings are no more expensive than they would be elsewhere – and by using the platform you gain the Goodwings certification, which is a recognisable stamp of sustainability approval that your own customers will see. After all, they’re making it increasingly clear that they prefer to do business with companies who care about the planet.

We all have a part to play in the climate crisis. And our partnership with Goodwings offers our customers the chance to play their part in a simple and powerful way.

The exponential potential of partnerships

We’ve been on an ambitious green journey at XLN.

Having secured carbon neutral status since the business was founded in 2002, we’ve recently embarked on a number of partnerships.

These partnerships, among other things, will ensure we remove plastic from our oceans to compensate for the plastic we create in our business; and they’ll see us protect around 25,000 acres of rainforest every year.

This is by no means a game-changer for sustainability, but it’s a step in the right direction. And it highlights the power of partnerships.

Through organisations like Goodwings, The Rainforest Trust and Big Blue Ocean Cleanup, we’re doing much more than we can alone. And that same sentiment, I hope, will carry through to our small business partners throughout the UK.

Our partnership with Goodwings offers an opportunity for all of us to do far more to tackle this crisis than we could alone.

We all have to do more, and we all have to work together.

I look forward to sharing more details of our partnership when it officially launches, and to helping you to shrink your carbon footprint.
