Read about the exploits of the XLN-sponsored Glasgow Philharmonia, and what you can do to help.
Back in 2016, Christian offered mentoring and sponsorship to a talented young conductor and his orchestra, the Glasgow Philharmonia.
Thanks to our support, the orchestra has moved up from playing 2 events per year, to playing over 20 a year at prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall and the Scottish Parliament. This year, they’re looking to expand even further – and it’s a great time for other businesses to get involved.
Ross is a multi-award winning instrumentalist and soloist and winner of the Young Scot of the Year award in 2015. He’s led the orchestra from strength to strength, and provided a platform for dozens of young musicians to earn their performing chops, and launch their own careers as professional musicians.
Below is a message from Ross himself:
We set up the Glasgow Philharmonia to give talented young performers in all parts of the arts industry an opportunity to perform – at no cost to them. In October 2017, we were granted charity status, and we’ve helped dozens of young musicians gain performance experience and exposure, bringing them one step closer to realising their artistic ambitions.
2016 saw the incredible and very generous support from Christian Nellemann and all at XLN, who backed the orchestra on the spot! But there’s still more we can do, so we are always looking for people’s support.
Sponsorship like XLN’s allows us to give more and more young people performance opportunities. And with our Movies to Musicals concert just around the corner, there’s no better time to get involved.
Movies to Musicals will see 400 performers on stage, including 4 incredible guest artists from London’s West End. With a capacity of 2200, this promises to be a huge event, attracting worldwide attention.
The show will cost us £37,500 to put on, so we’re currently looking for partners to help us make this event a success.
You can help by:
Advertising on the Glasgow Philharmonia’s concert programme. This will be publicised this widely on social media. Last year’s Movies to Musicals concert reached 100,000 people on Facebook alone – great exposure for any business.
